Australian acute coronary syndromes capability framework
The framework is the first of its kind in Australia to describe the health system requirements needed to deliver evidence-based care for those experiencing a heart attack, irrespective of where they live in Australia.
The framework intends to provide a set of minimum clinical service recommendations. It is inclusive of ambulance and retrieval services and recognises their integral role in the provision of timely ACS care.
The document and resulting capability recommendations were developed following extensive consultation with the key health professionals, government policy makers, professional bodies and consumers.
